Why should I choose Malaysia as a destination for my medical needs?
Malaysia’s emphasis has been and will always be healthcare that is both high in quality and cost-effective.

How can I be assured of Malaysia’s standards of quality in healthcare?
All private hospitals in Malaysia are licensed under the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998, to ensure patients of safe practice and quality of care. Many of our private hospitals have international accreditation, including the internationally-recognised Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, as well as our own Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) accreditation. Both the JCI and MSQH accreditations are recognised members of the International Accreditation Federation Council (IAFC), a body under the umbrella of the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQuA).

What is the cost of Malaysian healthcare services as compared to other countries?
With Malaysia’s favourable exchange rate, the cost of healthcare services in Malaysia is at an extensively lower cost to that of other countries. If you’re coming from a Western country such as the United States, medical procedures in Malaysia will generally cost a fraction of the price as compared to prices back home.

What sort of medical treatments are there available in Malaysia?
Malaysia’s highly-qualified doctors, specialists and medical personnel specialise in a wide range of treatments including (but not limited to) cardiology, oncology, aesthetic surgery, fertility treatments and ophthalmology.

How can I contact a Malaysian hospital that provides healthcare services?
Most Malaysian hospitals can be contacted easily through all communication channels available i.e. telephone, fax, e-mail etc. You may consider contacting a medical centre to enquire about their services. A list of health tourism hospitals and clinics may be obtained by referring to the Hospital and Clinic Listings, along with their individual contact information.

If I do not have a referral from my local doctor, can I set up an appointment with a doctor in Malaysia?

Will my insurance policy cover any treatment I undergo in Malaysia?
As insurance policies vary from one provider to the next, please consult your personal insurance provider and your selected medical centre for further information.

Is it safe to visit Malaysia?
Malaysia is known to be a stable country. Malaysians are well-known for their warmth and hospitality. Malaysia is not only friendly; it is one of the safest countries worldwide and it is absolutely safe to travel to any part of the country.

Will communication be a problem between my medical centre and me?

Should you require interpretation services, do contact your medical centre who may be able to offer interpretation services to help you communicate better with the hospital personnel.
