All private hospitals in Malaysia are licensed under the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998, to ensure patients of safe practice and quality of care. Many of our private hospitals have international accreditation, including the internationally-recognised Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, as well as our own Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) accreditation. Both the JCI and MSQH accreditations are recognised members of the International Accreditation Federation Council (IAFC), a body under the umbrella of the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQuA).
What is the cost of Malaysian healthcare services as compared to other countries?

If I do not have a referral from my local doctor, can I set up an appointment with a doctor in Malaysia?
Yes, you may contact your preferred medical centre in Malaysia and make your appointment directly. You are advised to bring along information about your previous medical treatment and your medical records.
Will my insurance policy cover any treatment I undergo in Malaysia?
As insurance policies vary from one provider to the next, please consult your personal insurance provider and your selected medical centre for further information.

Malaysia is a multicultural and multiracial country. English is a widely spoken in Malaysia, as well as Mandarin, Chinese dialects, Malay or Tamil. Should you require interpretation services, do contact your medical centre who may be able to offer interpretation services to help you communicate better with the hospital personnel.
